In response to the growing awareness of internationalization, a decrease in the birthrate but increase in double income families, Pigeon Group, a leading Japanese maker of childcare products, has become involved in the running of Kids World childcare centers mainly in the Tokyo and Osaka areas and some other parts of Japan.
This new style of childcare center allows your child to grow through the freedom to find his/her own interests such as drawing pictures, singing songs, playing with friends and interacting with teachers from abroad.
All of our Pigeon Kidsworld centers run the three main programs, Preschool, English Class，and Creative Play, based up “Pigeon Creative Method 21″.

Educational Goals and Major Points

Goal

Pigeon Kids World incorporates a highly acclaimed American childhood education text called the “Creative Curriculum” which is the basis of our educational program. The goal of our program is for children to become enthusiastic lifelong learners. Children are urged to have a positive attitude toward discovery, try out different ideas and to clearly convey information and explain themselves.

Using the Creative Curriculum as the basis of our education program, we paid particular attention to the diversity between American and Japanese educational systems and lifestyles to create the “Pigeon Creative Method 21″. The main goal is to instill in children a sense of creativity and internationalism.
“Creative” is the ability to use imagination to create something from nothing. It also means the child has the decisiveness to find what he or she wants to do. “International” is the ability to accept things that are different from you.

In order to realize this, we at Honacho Kids World can provide the optimum environment that can accommodate each and every child’s needs. This instills in children the willingness and the attitude to learn. As a result, children will view everything around them in a more positive light, which we believe will enhance their confidence.

POINT 2: Supportive staff members

The teachers at KW are experienced individuals who have had sufficient Creative Curriculum and Pigeon Creative Method 21 training. They have the ability to teach as well as entertain the children and are in a sense “performers”.

We provide thorough care and urge our teachers to use “open ended questions” which are basically questions that do not demand specific answers. Teachers are also required to be patient observers (“stand back”) and keep a close eye on each and every child. We value this very sensitive period in a child’s growth and foster their independence and their ability to think for themselves.

POINT 3: Full-time foreign staff

At Kids World we employ full-time international-minded foreign teachers who are fluent English speakers. Children can play and do various activities in English allowing them the opportunity to naturally interact with a variety of cultures.

POINT 4:Mix-age childcare

In the Creative Play class (daycare) we allow children to play and learn in a mixed-age environment. In a diverse international environment, children learn human interaction, begin to respect the feeling of others and also learn self-control.

POINT 5: Safety management

As part of the daily activities, we also incorporate emergency fire drills and evacuation drills. We have the children wear protective hoods, which is placed underneath the desk for quick retrieval in an emergency as well as do bucket relay as part of the play activities. Inside the center itself, we installed the Secom Monitoring System, which would allow a security guard or police to arrive at the scene at the shortest time possible in the event of trouble. The entrance to the center is protected by a security buzzer, further ensuring the safety of the children.

★Program★　【Creative Play】

We can accept children from as short as 1 hour to the entire day Monday through Friday between 9:00 and 18:00.

We have adopted a method called “mixed-age” where children of various ages can interact. In a diverse international environment, children learn human interaction, begin to respect the feeling of others and as a result learn self-control. A foreign teacher teaches a EFL （English As a Foreign Language）class for 30 minute each day. We allow children to have some contact with English even for daycare classes.

The Honancho Kids World is surrounded by traditional shops like bakeries, tofu and vegetable shops as well as library and community center where children can go as part of the outdoor activities. We set aside time to take the children outdoors for walks or activities such as “Season Kindergarten” where they can visit companies or take in the various seasons. We believe it is important to allow the children to get as much hands-on experience as possible.
